#ShopfloorHeroes | 15.01.21

Happy Friday! We hope that everyone has had a good week and is looking forward to a restful weekend.

As we do every week, we are back to share some more of the awesome content that we have seen from Hobbycraft stores over the past week. For today's blogpost we wanted to focus upon transforming your store's Twitter into a platform for conversation and great customer service.

We have selected some tweets that showcase store colleagues welcoming new followers on Twitter. A welcoming tweet is great as it transfers a store experience into an online one. For example, when you walk into a physical store, it is likely that you would be greeted by a colleague. We think that this should be no different online. Store colleagues can welcome new followers on Twitter by thanking them for following the store account and asking them a question to encourage engagement.

Here are some examples we have seen from Hobbycraft stores over the past week. Remember, it is always great to include a question in your tweet, however, you can never expect a follower to respond to this:

The conversation featured above from Hobbycraft Bedford is great. Store colleague Sam has used a personal sign-off which enables the new follower to know which store colleague they are talking to. Sam has also used a question in the welcoming tweet which has encouraged a response from the follower. This is awesome.

Being welcoming with new followers is a great way to let other followers of the store's Twitter account know that the store are available to answer queries and chat through Twitter. This may save a customer from having to ring the store for a query.

Here are three simple components you can use to create your own welcoming tweet:

- Welcome the follower (i.e: thank-you for following!)

- Include a question that might be relevant to the follower (for example if you can see they are a crafter, why not ask them what they have been working on recently?)

- Always use a personal sign-off as this makes the tweet more personable.

We hope that you have found these tweets inspiring. Why not try welcoming your new followers on Twitter? To find out more about how we can create #ShopfloorHeroes within your organisation, please email us at hello@socialretailgroup.com or click here and we will call you back.
