Hobbycraft Reading and the Banksy | #ShopfloorHeroes

Goodbye February and hello March! Thank-you for tuning in to our latest #ShopfloorHeroes blogpost, this week we will be taking a look at a fantastic tweet we saw from Hobbycraft Reading earlier this week. They ROCK!

Hobbycraft Reading have done an awesome job at creating an engaging and eye-catching tweet providing their followers with up-to-date information of exciting developments in their local area. A 'potential' Banksy has popped up in an area that is very close to the store. Hobbycraft Reading have noticed this development and have tweeted about it straight away. This is awesome.

The store has carefully considered the copy of the tweet and have given some detail of what the graffiti depicts. They have also ensured to share some great photos whilst also including local and relevant hashtags. The tweet has been very successful and has gained over 250,000 impressions, over 47,000 engagements, over 390 retweets and over 1,300 likes since the store posted the broadcasts on Monday morning. This is absolutely fantastic!!!

Even with shops currently closed for in-store shopping at the moment, it is great to see Hobbycraft stores creating fun and engaging broadcasts to share with their followers. Reading have considered that their customers may be interested in this local development as it is art related and relevant to the store!

The graffiti has now been confirmed as a Banksy which is fantastic. Store colleague Ela from Reading has re-visited the site and has posted this awesome update for the store's customers!

Our boss, Pete, even popped over to see Ela and the Banksy!

Here are some tips for creating broadcasts for your store's Twitter:

- Use good quality photos.

- Aim to use local and relevant hashtags in the tweet as this will help it travel further and reach the individuals in your local area that are also using these hashtags.

- Ensure the copy of your tweet is up-beat and relevant.

We hope that you have enjoyed this week’s #ShopfloorHeroes blogpost and are inspired to talk to your customers on Twitter about what might be happening in your local area that is relevant to your store.
