Sharing news updates on Twitter | #ShopfloorHeroes

Hello and welcome back to this week's #ShopfloorHeroes blogpost!

This week we wanted to share some of the awesome news updates we have seen from stores recently. If you are new here, news updates are useful for store Twitter as they offer a great opportunity to share information about what is happening in-store. For example, if your store is holding an event you may want to share this with your Twitter followers to encourage local customers to come in and get involved. Alternatively, you can also share colleague achievements, information about the team and general updates/ happenings in the store!

Over the past week we have seen some awesome broadcasts sharing the workshops that Hobbycraft currently have available to book:

(Above) This tweet from Hobbycraft MK is great as the store have ensured to feature a fantastic photo of their colleague stood next to the display sharing what is happening in-store in August! The store have shared some useful information about booking and have let their customers know about the pricing. Milton Keynes have also ensured to use local and brand compliant hashtags in their tweet which is great as local individuals in the area who are also using/ following these hashtags may also see the tweet.

(Above) This tweet from Hereford is also great as the store have shared a photo to celebrate finishing their first workshop. It is great to see happy customers getting involved in the event and some behind the scenes content of the workshop. When sharing photos of customers, always make sure to gain their permission first!

(Above) Additionally, we have also see some wonderful general news updates from stores over the past week. Sharing news updates is a great way to create a community feel with your store's Twitter followers. Hobbycraft Staines and Hobbycraft Swindon have shared some wonderful tweets highlighting what they are doing with their colleagues to promote good mental health and well-being. This is great to see on store Twitter as it offers a 'behind the scenes' view of the store.

(Above) We love this tweet from Hobbycraft Taunton as it features an engaging question and a great photo of store colleague Chloe!

Here are some tips to consider when creating news updates for your store:

  • Aim to include photos of colleagues/ 'behind the scenes' views of your store where possible.

  • Ensure your tweet copy is upbeat and exciting to engage with your followers.

  • Share useful information.

We hope that you have enjoyed this week’s #ShopfloorHeroes blogpost and are inspired to broadcast news updates on behalf of your store on Twitter!
