#ShopfloorHeroes | 30.09.19

This week's #ShopfloorHeroes blogpost is all about welcoming new followers.

At SocialRetail Group we believe that welcoming your store's new followers on Twitter is a great way to spark up a conversation and start engaging with your customers.

A welcome tweet is a great way to add a personal touch to Twitter and also offer great customer service much like you would do in person on the shop floor.

This example from Hobbycraft Carlisle shows how store's can connect with people in their local community such as schools and offer them appropriate information and advice. Hobbycraft Carlisle have mentioned about competitions that may be suitable for the school to get involved in and have said that they will share information about these. This is great!

Tips for creating a welcome tweet

- Include a welcome statement (i.e. 'Thank you for following our store').

- Include a question. This is a great way to encourage conversation and get to know your new follower.

- Include a personal sign-off so that the follower knows which store colleague they are talking to.

Here is a great example from Hobbycraft Rushden Lakes:

Hobbycraft Rushden Lakes and Carlisle are #ShopfloorHeroes!
